Colorless transparent smoking liquid, pungent odor, unstable. Easily decomposed into silicon tetrafluoride and hydrogen fluoride. Melting point (℃) : -20~-17, boiling point (℃) : 105 (decomposition). The aqueous solution is colorless and strongly acidic. It's corrosive. It eats into glass. Store in wax or plastic containers. When the concentrated solution is cooled, the crystal of colorless dihydrate is precipitated, and the melting point is 19℃.
Production usage：
Used for determination of barium, separation of barium and strontium, electrolytic refining of lead and tin, preparation of fluorosilicate. Equipment disinfection. Also used in some plating additives, fluorosilicic acid or salt for chrome plating, can have a similar effect with sulfate, and can improve the current efficiency to about 20%, brightness improvement, bright current density range is wider to make fluorosilicate and silicon tetrafluoride raw materials, also used in metal plating, wood preservative, beer disinfection.
